Upgraded Server

Just wanted to fill you all in, I've upgraded the server so you might note some minor changes.

I'm sure a few of you noticed that there have been a few times when the site was down recently, that was all part of the upgrade process.

Probably the most immediately noticable thing is that you can switch between editors now much more easily. Enjoy! Also, creating page link should be a little more useful. Other changes too, but not sure you'll notice them.

alas, just as I was figuring things out..... I seem to have lost my "watched files", and how do you book mark poems, or pages, or poets you want to be able to easily link to?

and the google adds, can we play with those on our own pages

the short answer on the google ads is: No, but the content of your page affects the content of the ad.

The watched pages shouldn't have been affectd at all..that's not part of the upgrade?

watching acts as a bookmark of sorts... So, it is troubling to me that they disappeared on you>

Tis running nicely now, it seems, Mr Anstey.

Although Ruth still disturbs me.

One of the most delightful things about Ruth is just how disturbing she is. I find myself adoring her for that particular trait. Three cheers for the disturbing and delightful Ruth! Hip Hip.. um.. ..never mind.

So far I like it a lot. One thing I'm not wild about -- I had set everything here for "logged on members only," and now everything is set for public visibility. I guess I have to change all those things one by one, right?
Anstey on Jul. 3 2007 edit · delete
Theoretically, you can just change the section they're all in, and they'll be protected. Test it thoough.

Oh yay, we have stars.  Like anyone's going to put less than 5.  Welcome me back to primary school.

But the maps are cool.  Now I know where to find me.

Laurie on Jul. 3 2007 edit · delete

I saw the new maps, but where are the stars? Do they signify something? Important announcements or such?

White_Feather on Jul. 3 2007 edit · delete
I think the stars are part of the new rating button, which I'm not sure I love the idea of.  I'm sure it's great for those who generally write masterpieces, but I don't need to be qualitatively assured of the mediocrity of my work!
Anstey on Jul. 3 2007 edit · delete
The stars are full of sound and fury but signify nothing. The maps however are goodlygoodish good.

Don't know much about editors yet, but this works well. One question - any way to change the paragraph formatting. Not a big deal, but just wondering.

The easiest solution on the paragraphis is to use new lines, rather than paragraph breaks, which is to say,  shift-return instead of just return.
