Moving a hand away
from your own slashed throat
takes courage
looking down at stiff nipples
showing through
red soaked white
knowing pink
is long lost
is a struggle
between flesh and will
clot damn it

Of the two versions of Freedom, I think I like this one best because of the added detail.  The second line, combined with the stiff nipples of the fourth, is downright shocking.  I don't really know what to make of it.

I agree with the Derma. the nipples add a vivid element, that is both grotesque and beautiful at once.
